Here’s a quick snap shot from my camera:
Consider me an expressive grandfather, father, husband, son, and friend. Although I'm an Air Traffic Controller by trade, I enjoy research, good stories, motorcycle riding, family/friend fun, sushi, and the Anaheim Angels (or is it the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim?). Theologically speaking, I'm a Christian who considers God to be sovereign, balanced, just, and rational. Thus a proper study of the Bible (objective, contextual, historical, and logical) reveals absolute truth to worship and live b

Happy Newroz!
Sandy and I celebrated the Kurdish New Year (Newroz) in Orange County this evening with our good Kurdish friend Hamid--good times had by all. The Kurdish National Congress sponsored the event which included lots of music and dancing. Heck, they dance like Greeks!

Super Airbus comes to LAX
The “Super” Airbus 380 just arrived at LAX. I was able to take pictures from the tower and enjoyed the experience. It was fun watching the crowds around the airport. More picture will follow as we go over to the aircraft this afternoon.

Airbus A380 coming to LAX
I just received word that the huge Airbus A380 will be flying into LAX on March 19th (not sure the time yet). I’m working that day and will try to get pictures of the event.

Here is a fascinating overview of all the flights that take place in the USA. It makes air traffic control look like a work of art!

Happiness, a Moral Obligation
I consider this article by Dennis Prager on “happiness” excellent. It is well worth the time to read.
Cool Pictures in Aviation
Here is a Powerpoint presentation of cool pictures in aviation. Here is a sample: (it’s an Airbus A380 double-decker that can hold up to 850 people coming to LAX next year. In fact, they are rebuilding one runway and several terminals to accommodate the plane.)

Another Day at the Office
Today we had a spectacular view of the mountains in the background of downtown Los Angeles from the control tower at LAX. Here is an example:

Resolved Conference
Kyle and I just spent 4 days in Long Beach at the Resolved Conference. We stayed at the Westin and had a great time together. Listening to the likes of Steve Lawson, CJ Mahaney, John Piper, and John MacArthur made for good input. They will be available for free audio download in the near future...worth the listen.

Bumper Sticker
Just saw a bumper sticker: ““Except for Ending Slavery, Fascism, Nazism & Communism, War Has Never Solved Anything.” It is now up there with one of my favorites, “Those who think they know everything really annoy those of us who do.”

Great Guitar Solo
Most of you have probably heard this guitar solo by Funtwo playing Pachelbel's Canon. If not, you gotta hear this....it is amazing.

Controller Retirement
Saturday night a good man retired from Burbank Air Traffic Control Tower, Barry Wagoner. He started there in the ‘70’s, took a break in ‘81 thanks to Reagan, then came back in ‘97 thanks to Clinton. He is a wonderful person to know and be around. His integrity and professionalism at work, along with his very friendly and kind demeanor as a friend away from work, are tops. I’m looking forward to the many times in the future we either enjoy a fine beer together or travel up to Reno for the Air Races. Congratulations, Barry, your career was stellar but, I know, the retirement will be worth the wait.
